📢 A cyber attack only affects the others anyway… 📢

A representative Forsa survey commissioned by the GDV Gesamtverband der Deutschen Versicherungswirtschaft e.V. shows that 80% of all medium-sized companies surveyed consider themselves sufficiently protected.

🍀 So far so good! Sounds reassuring at first… 🍀

Less reassuring, however, is the fact that

⛔ 49% of the companies surveyed do NOT have a written emergency concept,

⛔ 64% of companies do NOT offer IT security or data protection training to their employees.

⛔ And by the way, only 22% of all companies surveyed meet all basic technical security measures, while 78% do NOT do so!

Incidentally, only 29% of the decision-makers surveyed consider the risk of a successful #Cyberangriff on their company to be high.
Does it always only affect the others? Looking at the figures, 68 successful cyber attacks on companies were reported in Germany in 2023 (source: BSI management report, as of December 2023)
And it no longer only affects large, solvent companies, but increasingly also small and medium-sized organizations as well as state institutions and municipalities.

According to GDV Managing Director Jörg Asmussen, IT security should be #Chefsache in every company, because a #Cyberattacke can destroy the economic existence of a company in a very short time.

If you are one of the 80% of companies that consider themselves well protected and actually are, then congratulations!
