Instructions for the daily summary

Every day, as our customer, you will receive a summary of all emails filtered by SeuMail that were destined for your mailbox. We call this email the “Daily Summary”. It provides information on how many emails SecuMail has checked in total, how many of them are classified as harmless and how many or which emails have been blocked. This gives you the opportunity to get an overview at any time and, if necessary, to check individual emails.

We have designed this daily summary visually for you in such a way that it is as easy as possible for you to see where you may have to/can take action.

Here are instructions on how the email is structured:

1

This is the number of all emails that SecuMail has checked for you on this day.

2

Here you will find the number of all emails that SecuMail considered ‘good’. These mails were sent to you automatically.

3

Under “Blocked” you will find all emails filtered by SecuMail. These mails are listed here in the daily summary and categorized into spam, files, viruses.

4

With the help of the colored bar chart, you can see at a glance what has been filtered and what could be checked by you if necessary. The number of mails in the categories can also be easily viewed here.

5

For example, if you’re missing an email, just request a real-time summary. In it, you will then find an up-to-date summary of the filtered emails.

6

These 3 fields are shortcut buttons. Click on Spam, Files or Viruses to go directly to the appropriate category.

7

If you do want to receive a filtered email, simply click on “Check email”. You will now be redirected to the SecuMail Portal and see all the details (e.g. sender, size, time, ID, …) for the corresponding email. You can also easily forward the email from here.

8

Spam: Here you will find all emails that have been categorized as spam by SecuMail. The emails are organized by spam probability. The further down an email is listed, the more confident SecuMail was in filtering. Accordingly, we recommend that you check the emails listed under “Please check…”. It is not urgent to check emails listed under ‘…NOT visually checked…’. These emails have been classified as spam with sufficient certainty.

9

Files: In this category, you will find emails with an attached file that may contain a potential attack vector. For security reasons, you cannot forward these emails. Nevertheless, please check whether there is an important email here and contact your email administrator if necessary.

10

In addition to being divided into three categories, each mail is also assigned a filter level, according to the filter reason. Filter levels are color-coded and describe, for example, how safe an email spam is. The following applies here:

  • Spam: yellow (lower spam probability) to dark red (very high spam probability)
  • Files: blau
  • Viruses: purple
11-Number

Viruses: Emails listed here have been filtered due to viruses they contain. For security reasons, you cannot forward these emails. If there is an important email there, please contact your email administrator
